Thank you for your patience as we waited to receive updates from Canstruction Headquarters.  They have been working hard to gather and compile all of the 2022 Canstruction competition submittals and data. The jury has met and made their decisions.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 Canstruction International competition! The judges were blown away by the creativity and skill displayed by the more than 110 teams who participated across the United States and Canada. After much deliberation, judges have selected the following winners:

  • Best Original Design – “The Famished Gaze of Medusa” by DWL and Caruso Turley Scott, and GCI General Contractors – Phoenix, AZ
  • Structural Ingenuity – “The Giving Tree: Give All You CAN” by Kirksey Architecture and Turner Construction – Houston, TX
  • Best Meal – “EnCANto Casito” by PCL Construction Services – Orange County, CA
  • Best Use of Labels – “Building Blocks for Hope” by TUMC Youth Group – Fredericksburg, VA.
  • Most Cans – “One CAN” by Carpenter’s Local 1256, Inn of the Good Shepherd – Sarnia, Ontario
  • Honorable Mention – “WaCANda Forever” by HOK – New York, NY

Because of the limited number of submissions for 2022, the decision was made to hold on doing a People’s Choice vote. Hopefully that can be brought back for 2023.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in 2022. Together, a total of 178,742 pounds of food was raised along with $155,495 (equivalent of 455,485 meals) for local area food banks, helping to fight hunger in many communities where we work and live. Complete details can be found on the Canstruction website: www.canstruction.org

Canstruction Headquarters appreciates all that the local competition teams did to “Canstruct a World Without Hunger”. Now more than ever our communities need help and you are making a difference. We can’t wait to see what the 2023 competitions bring!
